(Solid State) Relay board

Back to MLC
Introduction:
Relay board was designed to compress the required space for windows blinds/rollers controll. It features 16 outputs that can be used individualy* or paired into up/down controll.

(* pairs of 2 relays share a common power supply point. Can be used individually, but provides power from one point of supply.)

Architecture:

  • Version 1.0 of the board used 2A rated electromechanical relays, that proved to be incapable of withstanding the starting current of a blinds motor.
  • Version 1.1 changed the electromechanical relays to solid state relays (rated 2A) and added MOVs to supress the overvoltage spikes. The second side of the MOV is routed to the neutral point, so a conductor comes out of the enclosure and must be connected in the distribution box. The neutral point must be connected BEFORE the board receives more than one line phase, since line-to-line voltage exceeds the MOV rating.

Both board versions include 8 digital inputs and RGB LED. V1.0 has a button on board and version V1.1 has small LEDs for each of the outputs.
